Many Germans associate Reggae and Salsa with Latin America, but rarely Heavy Metal.
Do we underestimate the South American Metal scene?

Absolutely, I know this is how you mention it, but I am sorry to hear this. To be honest I'm used to hear people relate Argentina with Tango, but I can assure you, there are fortunately many people who listen to power, Gothic and progressive. In fact if it were this much metal fans, I could not have my own music store as I have it, which is specialized in these styles.

Your music unites many different influences. Everything is represented – from Power Metal to classical passages. Into which genre would you classify Beto Vazquez Infinity?

Well as you well you say, I embrace all styles of music because for me is infinite, I personally like very different styles, from classic to trash. I think it's a kind of Power Symphonic, with Gothic influences, but I find very hard to catalog my own music. When I’m writing music, I'dont think of any style, I simple do create it.

By this variety of styles, one can see that you are always expanding your musical horizons.
Which musicians were the most formative and inspiring ones for you in the past?

What you say is correct, I don’t stop writing or studying, the most influential musicians of my life were: Chris Square, David Gilmur, Geddy Lee, Dave Mustaine. Yianny, among others.

There are twelve guest musicians on »Darkmind«. Is Beto Vazquez  Infinity dependent on these guest musicians to a certain extend, in order to be able to create exactly the sound you want to have?

No, this project is totally independent from anyone who participates in the Albums. That's why we are in the band six professional musicians, (5 musicians from Argentina and one from Sweden) all qualified. And committed to perform and represent what you hear on the albums. Whit excellent live performances.

Those guests came from nine different countries , some of them in Europe, others in South America. Do you see music as a way to support the understanding among nations?

Of course, the music unites the world, is what I profess. I love music and musicians from other countries to be involved on my work. It's like a  international selection of musicians. United under one flag. MUSIC.

In 2002 you went on a tour across Spain. Did you also play some concerts in other parts of Europe within the last years? And what about your touring plans for the near future?

In 2002 we played in Spain in Viña Rock festival, in front of 10,000 people, was a great experience, all very professional, I have the best memory of that show. Unfortunately, living in South America, causes that take the band on tour be very expensive, so  for now we cant  repeat that experience.
I would love to play in Europe again, if the conditions for do it are ok.
Germany,  has many people who listen to power and Gothic Metal, and  we would be very happy to reach them.Maybe one day, we can make it.

Muchos Alemanes asocian al Reggae y la Salsa con Latín América, pero raramente con el heavy metal. Estamos desestimando la escena metalera de Sud América.?

 Absolutamente, se que es así como vos mencionas, pero lamento escuchar esto. Para serte honesto estoy acostumbrado a que relacionen Argentina con el Tango, pero puedo asegurarte de que, por suerte hay muchísima gente que escucha power, gothic y progresivo. De hecho, si no fuera así, yo no podría tener mi propia disqueria como la tengo, que es especializado en estos estilos.

 Tu música  une muchas influencias diferentes. Todo esta representado en ella, desde el Power Metal a pasajes clásicos. En cual genero clasificarías a Beto Vazquez Infinity? 

Bueno como vos bien decís, abarco todos los estilos porque para mi la música es infinita, y personalmente me gustan estilos muy variados, como el clásico o el thrash. Creo que  es una especie de Power Simfonico, con influencias góticas, pero me resulta difícil,catalogarlo. Cuando compongo, no pienso en ningún estilo, solo lo hago.
  
Con esta variedad de estilos, se ve que estas siempre expandiendo horizontes musicales.
Cuales fueron los músicos que mas te formaron e inspiraron en el pasado?

Si, es correcto lo que decís, no paro de componer ni estudiar, los músicos mas influyentes de mi vida fueron: Chris Square, David Gilmur, Geddy Lee,Dave Mustaine. Yianny, entre otros.

Hay 12 músicos invitados en Darkmind . Es Beto Vazquez Infinity dependiente de estos músicos invitados hasta cierto punto, en orden de que puedas crear exactamente el sonido que tenes?

No, este proyecto es totalmente independiente a quien participe en el disco. Por eso somos en la banda 6 músicos profesionales, (5 músicos de Argentina y uno de Suecia) Todos calificados y comprometidos, para poder representar la obra que en el disco esta grabada.Con excelente performance en vivo.

 Estos invitados vienen de 9 países diferentes, algunos de Europa y otros de Sud América.
Vos vez a la música como una forma de apoyo al entendimiento entre las naciones?

 Por supuesto, la música une al mundo, es lo que profeso. Me encanta que músicos de otros países participen en mis obras. Es como si fuera, una especie de seleccionado internacional. Unido, bajo una misma bandera.

 En 2002 fuiste de tour por España. Tocaste entonces en otras partes de Europa estos pasados años?
Y que hay de planes futuros de salir de tour?

 Si en 2002 tocamos en España, en el festival Viña Rock,  frente a 10.000 personas, fue una excelente experiencia,  todo muy profesional, tengo el mejor recuerdo de ese show. Lamentablemente, el vivir en Sud América, hace que los costos para llevar a la banda de tour sean muy caros, entonces no pude volver a repetir esa experiencia. Me encantaría repetirla si las condiciones, se dieran  nuevamente. Se que Alemania, hay mucha gente que escucha power y Gothic Metal, y seria un placer alguna vez llegar hasta allí.
