DARKMIND REVIEWS

MTI - Belgium -co-editor Patrick De Sloover wrote the following review

METAL TO INFINITY

Argentinean musician Beto Vazquez can be considered as one of the leading musicians from Latin America. He succeeded were others used to fail, as he recorded, released and compiled an album with great songs and above all, he was able to get a helping hand from friends, as guest musicians. Who can say that he worked with Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish), Olaf Thorsen (Vision Divine), and people from Elis, Skylark, Stream Of Passion, Nemesea, Heavenfalls among others. This is a list that is really impressive, and might give you an idea what the musical direction of Beto Vazquez Infinity will be about.

Darkmind is the third album of Beto, and without any doubt the most promising release in his career. Darkmind contains up tempo metal songs but also sensitive and progressive songs which indicates the 'infinite' touch of musical boundaries. From the opener (From You Heart), you get a classical approach mixed with cinematic themes, and this opener is a perfect start to explore the album. Slowly, the vocal lines of Jessica Lehto drag in, and lift the song to a higher level. What follows is difficult to describe because there is happening so much during this trip of 50 minutes, and I'm sure that most of you will push the play button again after the last tones of the Spanish version of 'The Tunnel Of The Souls'.

This album is taking you with conviction, immediacy, ken and knowledge. Beto his Darkmind album is a totality of good arrangements, great chorus lines and professionalism all the way. I really wonder why there is no European release so far. Talent scouts are desperately searching and seeking for such bands and/or projects, and this is the proof that it is available and vacant! So, I'm pretty sure that Darkmind is only one step ahead of big international success, because the picture is complete.

Fans of progressive metal with a good instrumental foundation should get hold of this album. The ones that like musical directions like Tarja and Nightwish, After Forever, Epica and open minded people with a heart for well played music need to start the search.

You can also follow this link and read the interview with Beto that we did a little earlier.

All info to order the album will be mentioned as well!

My rating: 93/100
